Reliability of Equipilot® for measuring aerobic fitness in racehorses
The authors examined EquiPilot®, an automated recording system which measures heart rate and running speed, for its reliability during racehorse training. The authors wrote that after some adjustments for fitting, the system measured speed accurate and measurements for heartrate and running speed were stable. The authors concluded on the basis of their data that the EquiPILOT® proved reliable for assessing aerobic capacity of running racehorses on the track.
