Response of plasma concentration of free amino acid to change of dietary protein and amino acid levels in adult thoroughbreds
Brief content of the article
The response of the plasma concentration of free amino acids to the change in dietary levels of them is a parameter available to predict the amino acid requirements in some species. The authors studied if the response of plasma concentrations of free amino acids is also available in horses. The authors conducted 3 experiments. The overall conclusion was that the response of the amino acids His, Ile, Lys, Cys, Phe, Tyr, Thr and Val which responded to the change in their dietary levels might be available to predict their requirements by horses within a short period as reported in other species.
