Effects of sodium bicarbonate and sodium acetate on equine acid-base status

veröffentlicht: 2006-02-20

Brief content of the abstract
These authors studied if intravenous sodium bicarbonate and sodium acetate would result in changes in blood gases, pH and electrolyte status. The authors observed that metabolic alkalosis and shift in electrolyte status can be induced by either sodium bicarbonate or sodium acetate infusion, and they persist for at least 3 hours.
