-
Why can't I give Cavalor Calm continuously to my horse ?

To prevent a high degree of habituation we recommend a monthly 10 days non - administration period."
-
Can I combine Cavalor Calm and Cavalor Pianissimo ?
Cavalor Pianissimo is a complete feed specially formulated for easily excitable horses This feed can be given on a daily basis. If the effect doesn't suit the needs for your horse, you can use a calming supplement. For example Cavalor Calm, Cavalor Take It Easy or Cavalor Destress, depending on the type of stress observed.
-
What is the difference between Cavalor Calm, Cavalor Destress and Cavalor Take It Easy?
"Cavalor Calm is developed for the 'spooky' horse. These horses tend to be more easily scared. Studies in the field demonstrated that Cavalor Calm also has a positive result on the behaviour of nervous stallions. Cavalor Calm can be given for a prolonged period, we advice a 10 days non - supplementing period every month.
Cavalor Destress is developed for high stressed horses (hot). Cavalor Destress is a powder given 3 days before the stressful situation.
Cavalor Take It Easy gives your horse a relatively high dose of Tryptophane that will give quick results. Cavalor Take It Easy is a paste, given with a syringe the day of the stressful situation. "
-
Do I always have to combine Cavalor Destress with Cavalor Take It Easy ?
No, combining Cavalor Destress with Take It Easy is not compulsory. However, experiences in the field suggest that the combination of the two supplements result in an optimal effect.
-
Why is Cavalor Take it easy better to use during competition?
"Cavalor Take It Easy is 7 times more concentrated than Cavalor Calm. It is especially designed to give an immediate calming effect just before a stressful situation (competition, transport,..). (incidental use)"
-
Is it safe to feed Cavalor Pianissimo daily in combination with Cavalor Destress & Cavalor Take It Easy for stress related or other stressfull situations for 2-4 days?
These products can be safely used together. The effective dose / combination of de products may vary somewhat between horses because individual horses may respond differently to calming products. It is recommended to find the best combination of Cavalor products for your horse.
Prestation, Condition & Energy
-
Will my horse put on more weight due to the addition of fat to its daily ration?
When Cavalor ATP+ is used according to directions, the amount of energy administred of the total ration will remain similar. However, the energy is now supplied in a more condensed form. Further, the type of energy provided by Cavalor ATP+ may be beneficial for horses that perform long-duration-low-intensity exercises (endurance). It may also favor the horse's thermoregulation. The rice bran in the formula may contribute to a weight gain.
-
Will my horse's stress increase with this kind of energy ?
No. This product has repeateadly proven to be very effective for dressage horses. It provides the energy without temper increases. In general, the high energy density of fat may, under certain circumstances, be benefitial as less bulky feed is required to the horse with its energy. It has also been indirectly observed that some horses may experience some behaviour changes (less excitable). If behavioral chnages are observed, an increased energy diet may be considered to help reduce the risk of the horse becoming too hot(e.g. thoroughbred horses).
-
What is the benefit of using Cavalor Energy Booster during shows?
With Cavalor Energy Booster you provide your horse with an extra dose/boost of highly accessible nutrients that are important during competition or very intensive training. The packaging is specially designed to be used during competition.
-
Can I use Cavalor Energy Booster instead of a vitamin supplement during competition?
Cavalor Energy Booster is designed to provide an instant boost of nutrients (energy) before entering the competition arena. If your horse needs extra vitamins and minerals during a high level multiple-day-event, Cavalor Pow'red Performance may be given. For the administration of extra vitamins and minerals during off-competition Cavalor Nutri Plus should be used.

-
Can I use Cavalor Nutri Plus with non Cavalor feed?
Cavalor Nutri Plus is specially developed to balance the undesired mineral ratios in cereal based feed or rations with a high amount of cereal by-products. We recommend to use Cavalor Powred Performance when you would like to supplement a mineral/vitamin supplement on top of your complete feed.
-
What is Cavalor Pow'red Performance indicated for and how should I apply it?
Cavalor Pow'red Performance can be used during intense training and competition for a 2-3 week period. Cavalor Pow'red Performance contains high amounts of vitamins, which makes it an ideal supplement for horses that perform at high level multi-day events. It may appear that Cavalor Pow'red Performance contains a relativly low amount of vitamin A and D3. However, these vitamins are normally present in the complete feed (ration). High amounts of Vitamin A and D3 can be toxic. By providing relatively low amounts of these vitamins in Cavalor Pow'red Performance, the risk for over-supplementation of these vitamins is low.
-
What distinguishes Cavalor Pow'red Performance from similar kind of products?
Along with the similar ingredients found in non Cavalor, Cavalor Pow'red Performance provides more vitamins, especially B - vitamins. Sufficient quantities of B vitamins may be necessary as the requirement of the equine athlete may exceed the needs of the horse's ability to synthesize these vitamins. Thus, a higher yield from the feed may be obtained when yeast are provided especially when fibre rich diets are fed. Prebiotic compounds like inulin are non-digestible feed ingredients that beneficially affect the animal by selectively stimulating the growth and/or activity of positive bacteria in the large intestine. Prebiotic administration helps to prevent upregulating of some bad or ""pathogenic"" bacteria. This may result in an improved gastrointestinal health and the immunity status of the animal. Inulin is not stored in the body, therefore, a daily application is necessary to maintain the desired effect."
