The effect of forage quality and level of feeding on digestibility and gastrointestinal transit time of oat straw and alfalfa given to ponies and donkeys

Digestibilities of ponies and donkeys were compared by feeding both species a molassed dyhydrated alfalfa or oatstraw diet. Animals were fed ad lib or 70% of ad lib. Energy, dry matter, protein and fibre digestibilities are discussed.
