The copper, zinc and selenium supply of 106 horses in germany from various breed and stables was evaluated and compared to the recommended NRC requirements. For the evaluation blood and fodder samples were taken once in summer and once in winter. Horses were often fed lower levels of Zinc and Selenium but most horses remainded plasma zinc levels within the references but the selenium plasma levels were lower than the reference in many horses. Most horses received sufficient copper and plasma levels were according to reference values.
