Raf Kooremans is a talented eventing rider from Turnhout. He is the son of a farmer, Alfons Kooremans, who was at one time a very active three-day event rider.

In 1988 Raf participated in the European Young Riders Championship at Waregem and in 2003 at the European Championships in his region. After that he competed in three FEI European Championships at Blenheim, Fontainebleau and Luhmuhlen.

Raf became eventing champion of the Benelux four times and was Belgian Eventing Champion three times. He placed second in the Dutch Championships twice. Raf was shortlisted on the Dutch team for the Olympics in London.

Four years ago Raf decided to became part of the Dutch team instead of the Belgian team. He had dual nationality with both countries.
Raf is married to Nina Tuytelaers, with whom he has two young children. They recently built a new home on the border of the Netherlands and Belgium, where they live near Raf's parents.
