Arabic Show Horses
Knocke Arabians of Belgium has taken command of the international Arabian horse world in recent years, taking top honors as the Best Winning Farm of the show at the AHO organized European Breeders Cup in Deauville, France.
Much of the stud's success has come from its superstar foundation sire, QR Marc, who was foaled in 2005 at Quail Ridge Arabians USA. Paul Gheysens, owner of Knocke Arabians, began building his breeding program in 2005 around QR Marc, whom he personally selected and purchased from Rohara Arabians. Mr. Gheysens proceeded to buy a number of top-quality mares from all over the world, beginning in Poland. His vision and the distinctive mark he has made on the Arabian breed have been lauded throughout the industry.
Knocke Arabians' crowning glory, QR Marc, is one of the most renowned stallions of his generation. QR Marc has amassed career honors including World Junior Reserve Champion; Nations Cup Silver Champion Stallion; U.S. National Reserve Champion Breeders Sweepstakes; Elran Cup Junior and Senior Winner, and Alkalediah Champion Stallion.
Used by both the Janów and Michalów Polish state studs, QR Marc has produced excellent foals, some of which have already achieved champion status, including: Zigi Zana (Polish National Champion and European Silver Champion filly); Palatina (Bialka Spring Show champion filly) and Pogrom (Bialka Champion and Polish National Reserve champion colt). At the prestigious Zottegem, Belgium, show, his daughters garnered all the medals in the Junior Filly Championships.
In December 2011, QR Marc came under the care of Paolo Capecci, an expert and professional trainer who works directly with Mr. Gheysens and his team. The following December in Paris, QR Marc was named 2012 World Champion Arabian Horse.
Espressivo, another fine Arabian owned and bred by Mr. Gheysens, won numerous titles in 2011 and 2012, among them the bronze medal at the Al Khaledian Show in Saudi Arabia.
