  • Rest, nature’s best medicine

Your horse is an athlete: rest is the key to success Throughout the year it is important for athletes to take a break and recuperate. After a top performance or competition season, they need to slow down, rest and rebalance their body. This much-needed recovery period is also essential for your horse, as competition-free weekends can be counted on the fingers of one hand nowadays. This is a dangerous evolution, especially when you only have one or two horses. It is almost impossible to keep them in top condition all year long, because continuously “pushing” a horse often results in fatigue and poor performance. By introducing a period of rest every now and then, you give the horse a chance to regain its full strength and perform at his best again afterwards. In fact, frequent recovery periods will allow the horse to perform at a top level more continuously in the long run. To get maximal results from a recovery period, a reinforcing detox treatment, including the right feed and suitable supplements, will allow your horse’s whole body to recuperate and regain strength.

  • CAVALOR ARTITEC, the scientifically proven feed supplement for joints.

Sport horses need to endure quite a lot of strain on their joints. A recent survey* found that 36% of horses develop joint problems by the time they reach the age of eight. In two out of three horses, this leads to lameness and a good 20% of those will be out of commission for a year or longer.

I want a fit horse at the starting line. How can I offer my horse the maximum nutritional support? It has happened to all of us at some time: months of preparation for that really crucial competition and the day has finally arrived. The tack is clean and shiny, you have had a good night's sleep, and your horse is well trained... In other words, let the battle commence. But just when a performance peak is required, your horse feels under the weather. What now? Various reasons may make your horse feel stiff or less than 100% fit. The best known cause is muscle fatigue. Lactic acid is traditionally seen as the “culprit” of this type of fatigue. But is accumulation of lactate effectively the culprit? And is it the only cause of fatigue and acidification?

Sport mare or broodmare? Ensure the right balance
Do sports and breeding go together? Many sport mares are used for breeding to pass on their genes, talents and qualities to their progeny. By embryo transplantation or by using the sport mare herself (once) as a broodmare. To return to competing afterwards. Both pregnancy and training demand a lot from horses, especially in combination. The gestation period is a time when a lot happens in the body of a mare. And rearing a foal requires a lot of energy. It is thus doubly important to have a clear picture of your mare’s needs.
