Anky van Grunsven Wins Opening Leg of the FEI World Cup™ Dressage in Odense

Anky van Grunsven, won the opening leg of the FEI World Cup™ Dressage series in Odense, Denmark today with a great Freestyle ride from her Olympic champion Salinero.
The Dutch pair scored 73.702 per cent to capture the Grand Prix at the JBK Horse Shows that is the first of the nine qualifying competitions leading to the Final in Holland next March. The Grand Prix Musical Freestyle will be held Sunday.
With two individual Olympic gold medals and four World Cup titles to their credit since 2004, Anky and Salinero were more than two percentage points ahead of compatriot Edward Gal and Sisther de Jeu who finished with 71.659 per cent while Germany’s Monica Theodorescu and Whisper were third on 71.404 per cent. They were the only three combinations to score above 70 per cent.
