Interactions between the apparent energy and nutrient digestibilities of a concentrate mixture and roughages in horses
Published: 2002-01-31
Brief content of the article:
The interaction between roughage (straw or hay) and concentrates (grass meal or mixed food were investigated. The authors concluded that the results indicated that interactions between feed are quantively important for practical rations that contain low-digestible roughages. The digestibility of straw was enhanced by the addition of both the concentrate mixture and the grass meal, but to a different extent.
Keywords: digestibility; energy; feed evaluation; crude fibre.
