With all the 2014 wet weather both my TB's have suffered from sore soles this winter.
One horse went from pottering around bare foot to severely lame on both front feet within a few days. The only way he could walk was to lean back onto his heels. After a week packing with Cavalor® SoleMate the bruising came to the surface and, although still a little tender, he was walking correctly without boots or wrapping. We are now continuing the packing every other day over night when he is stabled and he is barefoot again during the day in the field without boots or wrapping.
The second horse always goes lame when he loses a shoe but this time never came completely sound and with the added wet weather and naturally thin soles he got himself a nasty abscess and nail hole infection. The abscess was just not surfacing and he was one day lame the next day ok and this went on for two weeks. Then we tried Cavalor® SoleMate, packing it all over the sole without removing the shoes on both front feet. In less than a week his lameness got better and better (so we knew something was a foot !). Then finally the abscess starting bursting through the morning of the vet appointment. The vet had already been booked to come and have another exploratory dig about and when he arrived he could see the exact place that needed the pressure released.
The second horse has a very high box foot which suffers badly in the wet, the central sulcus can get very deep and then his heel bulbs split. We have used loads of treatments to try and dry, prevent, react, clean the areas etc with some variable results. Cavalor SoleMate was an instant answer, it drew out the dirty stuff medicated and soothed the area all in one application.
Cavalor® SoleMate is so easy to use and it's amazing how it has been formulated to stay stuck to the sole without the need of wrapping just by using some bedding on top!
Thank you from one very happy horse owner who is looking forward to riding her horses again!
